Custom Nike Sneakers for Chelsea FC captain Millie Bright: Celebrating ADHD & Autism Through Art
When professional footballer Millie Bright reached out to me (GITARTSY), she had a powerful vision: a pair of custom hand-painted Nike sneakers designed to raise awareness and celebrate ADHD and Autism. This wasn’t just about style - it was about turning sneakers into a statement, a story, and a symbol of pride for the neurodivergent community. This project was in collaboration with Chelsea Foundation.
The Design Journey: From Conversation to Creation
Millie personally contacted me with the idea, and together we began planning every detail. Through back-and-forth conversations, we crafted a design that carried deep symbolism and meaning:

Winged Brain Design → the centrepiece, representing imagination, resilience, and the way neurodivergent minds soar.

Blue Wing → symbolising calm, focus, and depth.

Orange/Red Wing → representing passion, energy, and strength.

Infinity Symbol → a modern emblem of neurodiversity and limitless potential.

Puzzle Pieces → reimagined here as positive symbols of connection, growth, and unity.
Every sneaker was hand-painted with premium Angelus paints, ensuring durability, vibrancy, and detail. The result was a pair that told a story of creativity, courage, and pride.
Game Day: Sneakers on the Pitch
The true highlight came when Millie wore the sneakers on game day. Watching her step onto the field in them was unforgettable. She wasn’t just wearing shoes - she was representing thousands of voices in the ADHD and Autism community, showing the world that difference is powerful.
Seeing her confidence and pride in the design was the greatest reward of this collaboration.
